Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, representing the ANC, argued in the Constitutional Court on November 26, 2024, that both the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the African Transformation Movement (ATM) failed to present prima facie evidence in their case related to the Phala Phala scandal.
Ngcukaitobi contended that there was insufficient proof to substantiate claims of criminal wrongdoing regarding the burglary and subsequent cover-up involving stolen foreign currency from the president's Phala Phala farm.
The case is part of ongoing efforts by opposition parties to hold Ramaphosa accountable, but Ngcukaitobi stressed that these claims lacked the necessary legal grounds to justify further action.
