The Makhado community is in mourning after the heartbreaking death of 27-year-old Rudzani Lutendo Phophi, who succumbed to injuries sustained during a horrific attack. Phophi, a young mother and breadwinner, was ambushed, burned, and left to fight for her life after a brutal assault in Dzanani on September 19.
Despite her resilience and weeks of medical care, Phophi tragically passed away, leaving her family and community devastated. As police investigate and the case advances in court, her story highlights the urgent need to address gender-based violence and crime in South Africa.
