Johannesburg, 17th August 2024 — The Commonwealth Business Forum hosted a
magnificent Business Awards ceremony at the elegant Emperors Palace in
Johannesburg, celebrating the achievements of outstanding business leaders across
various sectors. In line with Women's Month, the evening was dedicated to honoring the
contributions of women in leadership and business, highlighting their significant role in
shaping the future of the economy.
Her Worship the acting Mayor Sizakele Masuku opening the awards ceremony
graciously and gratefully thanked the Commonwealth committee for choosing the city
of Erkurhuleni to host this 2nd Annual Commonwealth Business Summit and
Excellence Awards. She went to pledge her support in all future Commonwealth
activities
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Nomfundo Mcoyi,
founder and CEO of Cebolethu Group, who was among the dignitaries recognized for
her remarkable contributions to the business world. The ceremony drew attention from
both national and international circles, with notable figures such as Mandla Mandela,
nephew of the late former President Nelson Mandela, who attended the event with his
wife.
The highlight of the evening was the recognition of Nerusha Sadapal, a dynamic
entrepreneur from Durban and the founder of Visual Networks South Africa. She was
celebrated as a trailblazer in the Television and Film Industry, recognized for her
exceptional work in empowering the youth through filmmaking. Sadapal, who also leads
the 48 Hour Film Festival scheduled to take place in Durban on 27th September 2024,
has been instrumental in nurturing young talent and fostering creativity within the
industry.
The Commonwealth Business Excellence Awards were proudly supported by RR Group,
KZN Oils, Expo, and ADT. These sponsors played a vital role in making the event a
resounding success, underscoring their commitment to promoting excellence in
business and leadership.
The evening's program was expertly directed by the dazzling Dr. Sindiswa Mzamo, a
revered entrepreneur and a powerful voice in the business community. Dr. Mzamo
